REEL EDITOR - Privacy Policy

SUMMARY

REEL EDITOR does not collect anything. It has no networking code: it cannot phone home,
because there is nothing in it that can make a network connection at all. Your video, your
audio, your projects and your settings stay on your computer.

1. WHAT WE COLLECT

Nothing. No account, no sign-in, no licence key, no activation, no telemetry, no analytics,
no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no cookies. We do not receive your media, we
do not receive your file names, and we do not receive a record that you ran the program.

We could not honour a request to delete your data because we have never held any.

You do not have to take our word for it. Watch REEL EDITOR with any firewall or network
monitor and you will see it never opens a connection, because there is nothing in it that
can. Its Store package also requests no network capability, which is a statement of intent
you can read for yourself in the package manifest - though, since REEL EDITOR is a full-trust
desktop application, that declaration is not something Windows enforces on it.

2. WHAT THE APPLICATION WRITES ON YOUR OWN COMPUTER

These files are yours. They are never transmitted, and you can delete them at any time.

Deleting the Reel folder removes all of it. The application will recreate what it needs.

3A. SCREEN AND MICROPHONE RECORDING

REEL EDITOR can record your screen and your microphone - but only between you starting a
recording and you stopping it, never on its own, and never in the background. The recording
is written to the Videos folder above and goes nowhere else; like everything here, there is
no code capable of transmitting it. Deleting the file is deleting the recording.

3. VIDEO AND AUDIO PROCESSING

Decoding, encoding, and analysis are performed on your computer by FFmpeg, which ships with
the application and runs as a local program. No media is uploaded anywhere.

4. ANALYSIS FEATURES

Scene detection, silence detection and automatic cropping run entirely on your computer.
They are conventional signal processing, not machine learning, and they involve no third
party and no network.

Speech transcription also runs entirely on your computer, using whisper.cpp and a speech
model that ships with the application. Nothing is sent anywhere to be transcribed. If you
prefer a larger, more accurate model, you can put one in the Models folder yourself; that
download is between you and whoever provides it.

5. THE OPTIONAL MCP SERVER - PLEASE READ THIS ONE

REEL EDITOR ships with an optional companion program that lets an AI assistant operate the
editor for you. It is off unless you set it up.

The companion program itself makes no network connections. It talks to an AI client on the
same computer through that computer's own standard input and output.

However: if you connect an external AI assistant to it, that assistant is a separate product
run by a separate company, and whatever you type to it, and whatever it reads from your
project in order to answer you, goes to that company under that company's privacy policy and
not this one. We have no visibility into it and no control over it. If that matters to you,
do not connect one.

6. IF YOU BOUGHT THIS THROUGH THE MICROSOFT STORE

Microsoft handles the purchase, the payment and the installation. Microsoft collects its own
data under Microsoft's privacy statement, and we never see your payment details. We receive
only the sales reporting Microsoft provides to developers, which does not identify you.

7. CHILDREN

The application collects no data from anyone, of any age.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

Data protection law gives you rights to access, correct, export and erase personal data held
about you, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Those rights apply to data a company
holds. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to produce or erase. You are welcome to write
and confirm that, and we will answer.

9. CHANGES

If this policy changes, the application will show you the new version and ask you to
acknowledge it before continuing. The date at the top always reflects the copy you are
reading.
